Zeolite is one mineral that is not naturally a part of our diet and does not add anything nutritionally for us. However, it should definitely be added to everyone’s daily intake as a “shower on the inside” to clean our internal filters. Here are some basic Facts and FAQs about zeolite and why we need it for good health today.
Q: What is Zeolite?
A: Zeolites are naturally occurring crystalline minerals commonly found in rock deposits; they are formed when lava and ash meet sea water, forming beautiful crystals. Though zeolites formed millions of years ago, zeolites are still forming today through the same process.
Zeolite is capable of selectively attracting and binding toxic particles, whether they are heavy metals, radioactive particles, viruses or other carcinogens that may be contributing factors to chronic illness, and safely removing them before they negatively affect overall health. Not only does zeolite eliminate toxic buildup, it can also help control blood sugar levels, balance the body’s pH, improve digestion and nutrition absorption, support healthy immune function, help those who suffer from chronic allergies, and improve the body’s resistance to diseases like cancer.
The best news of all is that the scientists continue to unlock the potential health secrets of zeolite as they pertain to human health.
Q: I’ve heard about zeolite. How do I know I’m getting the right kind?
A: Zeolite is a class of minerals. The specific zeolite we use is called clinoptilolite. This is a safe zeolite commonly used in water and air filters to remove toxins. In powdered form, this zeolite has been added to animal feed for decades to improve the overall health of some farm animals. Also, powdered zeolites have been used on disaster areas like Chernobyl to soak up the radioactive strontium and cesium spilled in the environment.
But, you would probably not want the powdered zeolite for your internal use. Here are some characteristics of zeolite products you DO want.
1. Clean. Zeolite in nature, though beautiful, is already full of heavy metals and other toxins it naturally soaked up when it formed into crystals. You’ll want to use zeolite that has been cleaned in a slightly acidic and heated process to remove the toxins. This is a unique and patented process exclusive to one brand, Waiora.
2. Micronized. Pieces of zeolite and, in fact, other clay-like products, are too big to enter the bloodstream. You’ll want a product that is the right size. Once in the bloodstream, zeolites can go everywhere the blood goes to passively pick up toxins from all body organs and tissues.
3. Pure and Natural. Please be cautious of zeolites suspended in humic acid (from decaying plant and animal matter… could contain harmful bacteria) or claiming to have extra trace minerals. You’ll want to have a product that is pure zeolite. Remember that part of the process is to remove all minerals and toxins from the zeolite to activate it. In other words, clean zeolite is ready to work at absorbing toxins. Its like squeezing out the sponge to get ready to wipe up the mess.

Q: How much zeolite should I use?
A: The directions on the bottle are for a maintenance dose for a healthy individual; 3 drops, 3 times/ day. In more serious circumstances where a faster result is desired, one could take more drops more often. The range is anywhere from 3- 5 drops 3 times per day to 10-15 drops up to 10 times per day. It is not usually necessary to do more than that, but knowing that zeolite has GRAS status with the FDA for safety, you don’t need to be concerned with “over doing” the amount.
Q: I’m taking medications. Is there a conflict in taking NCD (zeolite) with my meds?
A: Always consult with your physician about your medications. It’s important to monitor your progress when going through any changes toward better health. It doesn’t make sense to give medication to a healthy person, so as your body becomes clear of toxins and becomes “healthier” you may not need to have as much medication. In the case of blood sugar challenges, for example, when insulin is used to bring down the blood sugar, giving too much insulin would definitely be a problem. Monitoring blood sugar and insulin dosing is very important.
Q: Is there any reason to not take NCD (zeolite)?
A: No. Liquid zeolite is safe for pets, babies, moms, and people of all ages. Because it removes toxins that accumulate over lifetimes, we can see healthier babies born to mom’s who are taking NCD, healthier and more cognizant seniors and at every age in between.
Q: I have heard that zeolite can be used for people (and animals) with cancer. Is this true?
A: Sure! Why not? Zeolite removes toxins so that the body can function better. A cleaner, healthier body has a better chance at success over any illness.
Q: What else can zeolite be used for?
A: Zeolite can be used any time there is a concern about toxicity. Toxins cause much damage; neurological, digestive, circulatory and other systems are all effected. Specifically, for example, mercury is noted for the neurological damage and malformation of the myelin sheath around nerve cells. (visit here for a short movie showing this) If the toxins are removed we can then see the benefits of a clean body without toxins.
Here are some common uses for liquid zeolite*: (note, directions on the bottle don’t mention these uses… the suggestions below are gathered from people’s experiences and are not medical claims)
- Brush your teeth with one drop to remove plaque and to whiten teeth
- Apply to skin irritations such as bug bites, stings, burns, infections and cuts
- Apply one drop in each eye to reduce irritations from pollen, dust or infection
- Apply directly to skin where muscles are sore or tired. The skin absorbs zeolite readily.
- Of course, take zeolite orally for maximum benefit for the whole body
