Reiki is a healing art that I first experienced several years ago. Not knowing what it was or what it meant, or even what Reiki could do, I was attracted to friends who had a healing center where they offerred massage, aromatherapy and Reiki. There is a magic about this healing center. I am not the only one to have stumbled upon it and made myself comfortable on their large, soft sofa. As we developed a relationship on a level of providing wellness solutions and natural health options for people in the community our friendship also grew. Through our frequent visits and chats we explored the benefits of living water, the use of magnets, the dangers of toxins, and the magic of Reiki. My friend Linda also shared that, through her blindness, she developed an ability to “see” beyond the physical world.
One day I was at the healing center to do a presentation for guests with, apparently, a black cloud over my head. You know that feeling. The grumpy/ sad feeling inside that shows up on the outside. Like a puppy, I followed Linda into a room where I received a short Reiki session (I thought it would be 15 minutes, tops, but Linda gave me more in 30 minutes than I could ever have imagined.) The tears flowed freely from my eyes as Linda placed her hands in Reiki positions from my head to my feet. By the time she reached my feet she was able to describe to me the person she saw who had come into her vision. This was a very dear person who had died in an accident. She had never met him, and yet she was able to describe him enough for me to know that he was just stopping by.
Later, when I also became a Reiki practitioner, I longed for the same intuitive gifts. I was in awe of my Reiki Master, Lorelynn Cardo, as her insights flowed freely. How is it that, by giving Reiki, we are able to develop psychic abilities? I was determined to develop this ability as well.
What I learned was that when we consciously try too hard, there is no flow. Also, deep emotions we carry can block our intuitive abilities. Reiki helped me to relax, heal myself, and open my heart. Once the images began to appear I was also able to ask for more information. The information I receive is usually seen, but once in a while I can “hear” or feel, as if getting a sense of something. My sessions, I am told, are powerful and accurate. I share the intuitive information I get, not knowing the meaning. Yet there is meaning for my client. Together, in collaboration, we often discover the meaning. The healing that results from a guided intuitive session is Reiki PLUS. It is the evolution of the traditional Reiki brought forth from Japan and the allowed receiving of intuitive gifts.
